CGAL participated in the construction of the first stage of the project, which included the projection of elevated roadways with a length of 4.72 mi, divided into seven sections of different dimensions.
Our participation began with the laying of the foundations on the basis of reinforced concrete pilings placed at the excavation height, 91.86 ft below the natural ground level, and reinforced concrete footings with a width of 16.4 ft by 13.1 ft, and a height of 8.2 ft, and continued with the erection of the support structure, composed of reinforced concrete columns of 5.9 ft in diameter (circular) and of 4.9 ft by 5.9 ft (oblong), with a 52.4 ft maximum height, and concrete capitals, supports that would serve for the installation of the “whales” (prefabricated trusses that make up the superstructure), for their later fastening and the pouring of the compression slab, which represented 45% of total construction.
