PLATAFORMA MÉXICO BUILDING, MEXICO CITY

The Public Safety Secretariat, today National Security Commission, upon putting into operation the integrated plan for the modernization and construction of its areas to meet present requirements in security matters, and after a public bidding process, awarded the Plataforma México Building work to Tradeco Urbana.

It was first necessary to excavate 3 178 320 ft3 of materiel under the existing land level to build the space where the bunker, along with its machinery room, would be built, in addition to the induction work necessary for material supply and residue removal. A comprehensive remodeling of the external works of the complex was undertaken, including new streets, gardens and induction works.

Within the machinery room, emergency plants with a capacity of up to 5 100 kW were installed in order to service the whole building in the event of a contingency and that the external source power should not be available.

To meet the several requirements of the project, more than 123 601.33 ft3 of all types of concrete were poured. The project involved more than 385.8 t of reinforcing steel and 1 102.31 t of metallic structure.

In this way, the company contributed in joining all the necessary elements for the interconnection of the networks of agencies and institutions directly involved in the public security area, to foster and ease the exchange of information among their several databases in order to optimize the efficacy of strategies and operations to combat criminality.
