In response to the modernization needs of the Mexican Air Force facilities, the Flight Training Center was constructed at the New Air Force Academy, in Zapopan, Jalisco, being the greatest pilot seedbed in our country.
The project included the construction of a 1.86 mi-long and 196.85 ft-wide runway, with two taxiways in a quick exit roadway to the main runway, and the widening of the existing taxiway, as well as the installation of visual aids and signalization pursuant to international standards.
Likewise, and with the firm aim of being on the technological vanguard on a world level, the Flight Training Center building was erected, which will house first-generation flight simulators. The building has a 54 153.23 ft2 area, constructed on a 145 958.63 ft2 surface, including marshalling yards and gardening, in which several activities are developed, divided mainly in two areas: academic and practical, which are perfectly joined by a grand atrium which culminate in an impressive green wall, commemorating the Mexican Air Force.
The simulator area is divided in turn into several zones, being the hangar the main one, since it is there that the several simulators are housed, with six monumental accesses for the free entry of these imposing instruments.
